What do the coloured LED alerts on my ShowerStar mean?

ShowerStar features a simple system of coloured LEDs to notify you at different stages of each shower. This system acts as a traffic light guide, as easy as green, amber, red, using behavioural nudges to help you take shorter, more water- and energy-efficient showers.

Visual feedback stages

Your ShowerStar is designed to provide visual feedback at specific moments to keep your shower on track. The LEDs will light up when:

  • Blue: water flow has been detected. This is triggered by vibration on the shower pipe. If this is triggering frequently, you can disable the alert.
  • Green: the timer has started. Your shower is being timed and logged.
  • Amber, half-time: a nudge that you are halfway through your shower.
  • Red, full-time: a nudge that your time is up and it is time to get out of the shower.
  • Red, over-time: a reminder that you are overtime.

App connectivity

The ShowerStar communicates with the app via a Bluetooth connection. The LEDs may also indicate connection status whenever the app is connected to the device.
