Bernie has spent his career doing something surprisingly satisfying: helping people use less energy and water often without even noticing. A specialist in energy and water efficiency and the holder of multiple patents, he’s designed products that have become staples of efficiency programs around the world, with more than 15 million sold to date and counting.

So where did ShowerStar come from? Home. Bernie is dad to three daughters, and all three shared a love of long, showers. Rather than standing outside the bathroom door tapping his watch, he did what any product designer would do and designed a better solution. ShowerStar grew from that everyday challenge: saving water and energy to help household save money and do their part for the environment.

Today, Bernie leads TouchGrid with the same mix of practical ingenuity and good humour, building smart, simple products that make efficiency easy for everyone.
