How do I perform a factory reset on my ShowerStar?

A factory reset restores your ShowerStar to its original out-of-the-box state. This is often the quickest way to resolve connectivity issues or if you are preparing the device for a new owner.

Important: Performing a factory reset will erase all personalised settings, including your WiFi configuration and historical water usage data stored on the device itself. Your account history in the TouchGrid app will remain safe.

Steps to factory reset

  1. Ensure the device is powered Make sure your ShowerStar has charged batteries or is connected to a power source. The screen should be active before you begin.

  2. Locate the reset button Find the small, recessed button located on the back of the unit, near the battery compartment.

  3. Press and hold Using a paperclip or a small pin, gently press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.

  4. Watch the lights Continue holding until the LED indicator flashes through our signature sequence: Green, Amber, Red.

  5. Release and wait Release the button. The device will restart, which takes about 30 seconds. Once the display returns to the default "0:00" screen, the reset is complete.

What to do next

Because the device has forgotten your WiFi details, you will need to reconnect it to your network.

  1. Open the TouchGrid App on your smartphone.

  2. Navigate to Device Settings.

  3. Select Add New Device and follow the prompts to re-pair your ShowerStar.
