West Australia gets over 50% of its water from desalination and this is growing with a drying climate, less streamflow into our dams and a growing population. We all need to conserve water to ensure there is enough to go around. One of the simplest ways to do this is to take shorter (4 minute) showers. An added benefit is that shorter showers also save a whole lot of energy. Most of our water heating in WA uses natural gas - so by taking shorter showers you save water, save energy and save money.
