<https://www.theguardian.com/lets-save-water/2026/jun/30/water-saving-tips-home-leaks>Most of us are familiar with the standard advice to take four-minute showers—as highlighted in a recent The Guardian piece on household water leaks and savings—the reality is that these requests and simple shower timers consistently fail to drive lasting behavioural change.

Shifting a habit as deeply ingrained as our daily showering routine requires more than just a strict time limit; behavioral science demonstrates that individuals need 60 to 90 days of consistent, positive nudging at the exact moment of the behavior to successfully wire a new habit.

This critical psychological gap is precisely why we developed ShowerStar, leveraging proven behavioral science and real-time nudges to transform water-saving intentions into permanent, effortless household routines.
