# How do I turn on and charge my ShowerStar?

To turn on your ShowerStar, press and hold the operation button for **3 seconds**. The LEDs will illuminate **RED, GREEN, and BLUE** to confirm the device is on.

### Charging your ShowerStar

When you first receive your ShowerStar, you must charge it for at least **4 to 6 hours** before use.

1. Power on your ShowerStar.
2. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the charging port on the ShowerStar.
3. Connect the other end to any 5VDC phone charger or USB power source.

### Battery life

The battery will typically last for **6 to 8 months**. This duration depends on several factors:

- **Usage:** How many showers are taken per day.
- **Settings:** The brightness and number of alerts configured.
- **Connectivity:** How often you connect the ShowerStar App to the device.

> **Note:** A good rule of thumb is at least 8 months of battery life, assuming 4 showers per day. Fewer showers and less intrusive alerts will extend battery life.
