# How does ShowerStar work?

ShowerStar features coloured LEDs to notify you at different stages of each shower, helping you change your behaviour to take shorter, more water- and energy-efficient showers.

**LED Feedback Stages**

The ShowerStar provides visual feedback for the following events:

- **Water flow detected:** The unit wakes up when water starts running.
- **Timer started:** The countdown begins.
- **Half-time:** A signal that you are halfway through your shower.
- **Full-time:** You have reached your target duration.
- **Over-time:** The shower has exceeded the limit.

**Bluetooth Connection**

The ShowerStar communicates with the App via Bluetooth connection whenever the App is connected to the device.
